Freaky Meet the Grass horse lord Different to his two brothers A shell A hard shell With a soft head under his shell Protected from his enemies
Moves like a storm of speed Across the paddocks With more energy
But he doesn’t use it all to run He uses it to catch his food
Small insects Heaps of energy From devouring his food
Quietly and sneakily He moves Unlike his brothers Who clip clop clip clop Over the stones

I am improving my reading fluency by reading with others
HUNTING A taste of the fur in the pig’s mouth Ripped off the goat’s body.
Saliva drips from its mouth Warm and gooey and slimy
The sound of the pig squealing its head off Terrified seeing a hunter Anytime At the sound of dogs barking
The smell of the stench of the pig Stinky Like a mixture of cheese and rotten eggs
Its hard hair sticks out With big gaps in its fur But it is gooey and dirty And slushy with hair mixed with mud
With a fat head And a big jaw And a squashed nose And dirty dirty feet And a spiked up neck And a very fat body
A wild wild pig
Coke
"Re re re re ..." "Mum. Dad. Wake up!" "Breakfast!" "Oh no. No bowls. Dad, where are all of the bowls?" "Hurry up dad." Gzzs. "Hi dad" "I will help you Travis."
"Travis ..." "Yes mum." "Hop in the press." "Ok mum." "Oh ... a black cat. Oh I can see a black cat." We looked for it. "Follow the cat!! Fiona, catch it!! Damn Dean, catch it!!"
We got the cat. "Hey, it's friendly. It's not a wild cat! It's a friendly cat." "We will call it Coke."
Well ... I've got bad news ... Coke died.

I am developing my reading fluency in the CAFE programme by reading with others. I am practicing reading everyday to develop my fluency.
I am getting better at stretching out words I don't know and breaking them into chunks.
Term 3
I am learning to read procedural text for understanding when I investigate with my reading partners.

Term 1 writing shared at assembly
I was sleeping. I heard a terrible scream and they screamed eeerrigig. I went and saw the screamhorse. The screamhorse screamed and screamed. It was eating my Dad and Mum and I got the gun out and shot the beast. It was dead.

I am reading lots of books. I am reading fluently. I look at the first letter, the blend and the middle letters and sound them out. I can work out words I do not know by looking at the picture, or sounding them out.
I am the kiwi in the concert.

Ski trip
Derek, Dad, Mum and I went skiing. I went first and I kept crashing. I went on the chair lift. I had ski lessons. I learnt how to stop. I learnt how to ski I went to the café. White snow was all over Ruapehu. I saw rocks I saw lots of people. I went down the steep part. I went down the steep part I went really fast like a rocket. I was tired. But I had fun at skiing. My SpeechReflection - GreaseI had fun at the School Concert I had a fun day I had fun at the dances. I like the Concert I had fun on the stage . I did Rock and Roll on the stage I liked doing Rock and Roll. I liked being my character. I liked being a mechanic and a dancer. I felt nervous when I got on the stage. I felt proud after the show. The whole show made me feel happy.
